FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GOT QUESTIONS? I’VE GOT ANSWERS.

  • I offer in-person and online sessions, Monday to Friday. In-person sessions are held at 10109 106 St., Suite 303, in downtown Edmonton. Online sessions are available for clients across Alberta and British Columbia.

  • There is paid street parking on 105 St. and 106 St, and paid lot parking.

  • Yup! Monday to Friday in downtown Edmonton.

  • Here’s the scoop on washrooms: If you want a gender-neutral option, there are single-stall washrooms available on the first floor, right across from the elevators. If you’d prefer gendered washrooms, you’ll find those on the same floor as my office. The codes for both of them are in the office waiting room.

Pick whatever feels best for you. If you have any questions or need help finding them, don’t hesitate to ask.

  • In our first session, we’ll take the time to get to know each other and understand the challenges you’re facing. I want to hear about what’s bringing you to therapy—whether it’s anxiety, trauma, difficult relationships, or anything else weighing on your mind. You’ll be able to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and there’s no rush to dive into the deepest parts of your story right away.

We’ll also go over the practical details, including informed consent, so you know exactly what to expect from our work together. I’ll explain how therapy works, what methods we might use, and answer any questions you have about the process. By the end of the session, we’ll start to have a clear direction for how we’ll move forward and a plan that’s tailored to your specific needs and goals. Most importantly, you’ll leave knowing you’ve taken the first step toward creating the change you’ve been looking for.

  • It really depends on your specific situation and what you're looking to achieve. Think of therapy a bit like going to the gym. If you’re looking for quick relief from a specific issue, a few sessions can help you start feeling better, like getting in a few good workouts. But, if you want to make deeper, lasting changes, it usually takes more time. Some people feel significant relief after a handful of sessions, while others stay longer to work through deeper layers of their experiences. The more time we invest, the more we can explore and make those lasting changes. We’ll check in regularly to see how you’re feeling, and ultimately, the pace is up to you.

  • I work as a specialist, not a generalist. This means I focus on providing high-quality, tailored care for a smaller range of issues, rather than trying to work with everything. Areas I don’t specialize in include:

    • Chronic pain

    • Eating disorders

    • Psychotic disorders

    • Addictions and substance use

    • Forensic concerns and criminal justice system involvement

I believe it’s essential to connect with someone who’s truly experienced in these areas, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I can help guide you toward the right resources.
